This event is ONLINE only.  Join the Grand Concourse Library staff as we discuss the story, "The Heart Fails without Warning," by Hillary Mantel.  The story is about two sisters, Morna and Lola, and how their family is affected by anorexia and emotional illness.  Click the bolded title above to read the story.  On the day of the program, a link to join the discussion will be sent to you. 

Dame Hillary Mary Mantel (1952-2022) was a writer best known for her trilogy about  Thomas Cromwell's rise to power in the the court of Henry VIII.  Mantel won a Booker Prize for best work of fiction for the first two books in the series, "Wolf Hall" and "Bring  Up the Bodies."  During her 20s, Mantel was misdiagnosed with a psychiatric illness, and given drugs which produced psychotic episodes.  As a consequence, Mantel refrained from seeking help from doctors for some years.
