Tune in for a special holiday dance party playlist, downloadable kids crafts, and cocktail and cookie recipes from the Library's archives. Plus, when you register, get a curator-led virtual tour of our new online exhibition, Winter Wonderland: George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®. We hope this year's virtual Holiday Open House will bring joy and festive entertainment to you and your loved ones.

Online Exhibition: George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®

George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® is a hallmark of the holidays in New York. Honor its legacy with a new online exhibition that charts the early years of the ballet’s life, from its premiere in February 1954 to the success of the remounted production in 1964. Through treasures from the archives of the Jerome Robbins Dance Division, including photographs, set models, and costume designs, the story behind the work emerges, as do the thematic qualities that make Balanchine’s version of the ballet unique and enduring.
