The Sundown Motel by Simone

The Sundown Motel by Simone St. James is riveting. Many a reader will find himself/herself practically hollering at the fictional police officer in this book to heed the repeated admonitions of the character Viv. Nice segues between the year 1982 and 2017. St. James displays yet again her stellar talent for adroitly intermingling a supernatural aspect to her murder mystery novels, an ability that St. James first showcase in her work, The Haunting of Maddy Clare (2012). Another highly engrossing fictional book is The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. It is largely set in Alaska in the 1970s and then again in the mid 1980s. Poignant issues such as domestic violence, the Vietnam War 's deleterious impact on some of the people who served in said war, family drama and evolving relationships represent just some of the multi-faceted issues in this definite page turner. Mother and son writing duo Charles Todd have combined writing talents yet again to produce A Cruel Deception, the eleventh Bess Crawford book. This historical mystery will, as all of its' Bess Crawford predecessors, draw readers into the intrigue and sorrow ubiquitous in an England and France that are struggling to recover from the horrors of the Great War.
