Stay Connected Through Virtual Classes

Virtual Computer Classes

As we continue to practice safe social distancing in response to COVID-19, departments at NYPL have been hard at work updating and improving our services to address our patron’s needs. In particular, the TechConnect department is preparing to pilot live online classes the week of April 6, and we’d love it if you could attend virtually.

Our team of talented instructors will be leading classes across a variety of subjects. You can find dates, times, and registration information through each link below.

Monday April 6th, 6pm: Finding a Job Online

Tuesday April 7th, 10:30am: How to Use Lynda.com

Tuesday April 7th, 6pm: Excel for Beginners

Wednesday April 8th, 2:30pm: Shopping Online

Thursday April 9th, 10:30am: Twitter Basics

As our team delivers classes in this new format, we’ll be looking for ways to calibrate our classes to make our offerings as effective as possible. Moving forward, you can also expect to find classes offered in Spanish and Chinese to reflect the diversity of cultures here in New York City.

You’ll be able to find class handouts available online, and links to additional resources through our website. We’ll be updating our program calendar in the coming weeks to provide additional online learning opportunities for you as well.

NYPL will continue to provide free and easily accessible resources. Previously, we wrote about how educators and students can stay connected through distance learning, and we’ve also detailed the vast array of online resources available to you through the NYPL collection.

We’re looking forward to continuing to provide you with high-quality computer class instruction in this ever-evolving situation, and we hope to see you in our classes soon.
