Romantic Interests: VIDEO | Valentine's Day is Over but It's Never Too Late for Love

Square Valentine
Puzzle purse valentine, NYPL Pforzheimer Collection

Join us for a special Valentine's Day-themed look at a few of the Pforzheimer Collection's new accessions.

In this video, we unfold an early 19th century puzzle purse valentine; examine a copy of a rare valentine-writing guide by the English chapbook writer Sarah Scudgell Wilkinson; and compare two apparently unique pieces of ephemera: handbills  reporting the burning of the Colne Bridge Cotton Mill (near Huddersfield, England) on Valentine's Day of 1818.

Letters from Dongtan Global High School

Hello! I'm curious about could you remember me, the member of the Dongtan Global High School. We visited NYPL last year and got a lot of help from you with a specific and detailed interview about American Literature. Today, we're going to talk to our memories in U. S. A. about what we had last year. During I remember our schedule in detail, I remember your interview. I leave comments on here from my gratitude. Thank you!

Yes, of course I remember you

Yes, of course I remember you. Having you visit for the lecture on American Literature last October was my pleasure. You just reminded me that I still need to read the book you recommended to me: Linda Sue Park's When My Name was Keoko. Good timing. I just finished the book I was reading. I believe your school semester is about to end . . . enjoy your break!
