With your library card from The New York Public Library, you get access to amazing (and totally free!) resources.
Don't have a library card? Anyone who lives, works, attends school, or pays property taxes in New York State is eligible. Apply for a card online or in person at one of 92 NYPL locations in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island.
Need to renew your card? Visit any NYPL location and bring along your library card, proof of identity, and proof of your current home address. Renewing only takes a minute.

With your library card, it's easier than ever to choose from more than 300,000 e-books on SimplyE, The New York Public Library's free e-reader app. Gain access to digital resources for all ages, including e-books, audiobooks, databases, and more.
If you don’t have an NYPL library card, New York State residents can apply for a digital card online or through SimplyE (available on the App Store or Google Play).
