I'm excited about your

I'm excited about your challenge and I started to reread the Secret History. I love your podcast! Cheers! West Coast Librarian

Great Idea - Graphic Links Broken

Awesome idea on the challenge! We're now talking about issuing a similar staff challenge for summer reading here at Irving Public Library! By the way, the two images after the Tartt cover are broken. :(

Eek!

Thanks for letting us know - we will fix! : )

The Secret History!

I love this book, and it gave me a new appreciation for the classics when I was in college, to such an extent, I changed majors and got one of my degrees in philosophy as a result.

Wow!

Thanks Jeff, very cool story! - looking forward to re-reading!

So excited for this challenge!

Hi Frank and Gwen! Long time fan of the podcast. I used to LOVE The Secret History and am halfway though a re-read now, so I'm very much looking forward to your thoughts. It's crazy how influential it was on future books...and all future books that I consider my favorites. Now that I re-examine Tartt though, I think I like these books because they remind me of The Secret History (Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Pessl and The Magicians by Grossman come to mind but there are others...). Anyway, very much looking forward to the discussion. AND I love how the two titles dovetail so neatly...Greek tales go perfectly with Greek students! I'm curious to see if any of the traits the Tartt students have come through in the Ovid tales. Thanks for being wonderful! ~ Texas Librarian

Fabulous!

Thank you Amanda! Great connection you made with the Ovid tales and the students in The Secret History! I hope we live up to your expectations during our discussion : ) Also, thanks for the on target "read alike" recommendations. Good job, Librarian!

Recommendation

I really enjoyed The Secret History! Thanks for the recommendation. I kept wondering about how the characters were doing when I wasn't reading it. In that way, it reminded me a lot of A Little Life. I would recommend that if you like The Secret History!
