8 Dr. Seuss Books You May Have Never Heard Of by Gwen Glazer, CommunicationsJuly 28, 2015

In 2015, readers of all ages thrilled to the news that Dr. Seuss would be releasing a new book. (Yes, Theodore Geisel passed away in 1991; What Pet Should I Get was discovered in a box in 2013.)

But we don’t need a new release to discover some new-to-us titles in the Seussian oeuvre! Geisel was incredibly prolific, and we have more than 200 Seussian works in our catalog.

Here are eight of his lesser-known books. They may not have a place in the canon beside The Cat in the Hat or Green Eggs and Ham, but we like them, Sam I Am.

I am not sure of the title,

I am not sure of the title, but I recall a Dr Seuss book that taught a lesson on the arms race. Anyone know the title of the book I am talking about? I remember reading it to a child I was babysitting for back in the 80's but I had never come across it before.

With the proliferation of kids books, Dr. Seuss books are no longer the primary users of bookstore shelf space - at least that's the only reason I can imagine that the books that are shown above are new to the editor. I assume that "back when I was a kid" we just read every Seuss available both because he was still alive and coming out with stuff and it was a larger segment of what was available for young/beginning readers :)
