Have You Hugged A Book This Week?
Did you know that September 6 - 14 is Hug-A-Book Week? Well, it is! Here at Battery Park City Library, we're celebrating in style by grabbing our favorite titles and giving them a squeeze. Why don't you try it, too?
To get inspired, here are some picture books that got us in a downright huggin' mood!
Hugging Hour by Aileen Lietjen
It's Drew's first sleepover at Grandma's house, and she is nervous her parents won't come home. Daunting, certainly, but nothing a "hugging hour" session from Grandma can't fix! Hugs to the rescue!
How Do You Hug a Porcupine? by Laurie Isop
I'm sure you can imagine hugging something soft and cuddly like a bunny or a puppy. But what about a porcupine? Can you imagine how you'd hug one? Spoiler alert: you do so very gently.
Hug Machine by Scott Campbell
Watch out world! Here comes the Hug Machine! And he has one mission: to hug everything and everyone around him. Our prtoagonist might very well be considered the world's first hug-a-philiac.
Duck and Goose: Goose Needs a Hug by Tad Hills
What does Goose need more than anything else this Valentine's Day? Why, a hug, of course!
For more expert advice on hugging, you should also consult author Scott Campbell's website.
