Happy New Year! The year has barely started and we are back on the road. And it looks like the amazing NYPL collection will be adding quite a large number of miles this year as we have already received loan requests for 22 different exhibitions throughout the year.

Here are two interesting shows opening this winter:

The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University is organizing Archibald Motley: Jazz Age Modernist, the first retrospective of the American artist's paintings in two decades, which will open on January 30 at the Nasher and will go on a national tour. The Schomburg Center Art and Artifacts Division is lending three oil on canvas works to this exhibition. If you don't have the chance to visit the exhibition make sure to visit the website and see the beautiful images of this artist's work.

If you are planning a trip to Madrid make sure to visit La Casa Encendida. The exhibition Escenarios del cuerpo, which runs from February 6 to May 4, will be showing 29 items from the Jerome Robbins Dance Division. The exhibition aims to show Loie Fuller as one of the leading and most influential figures of the 20th century art scene and how her choreographies and technical innovations have exerted a strong influence on contemporary choreographers, producers, theater and film directors, and performance artists.
