Bronx Library Center's 3rd Annual Job Expo: September 18 by Robyn L. SaundersSeptember 4, 2013

The Bronx Library Center is pleased to announce its Annual Job Expo to be held Wednesday, September 18, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Concourse Level of the library.

The conference rooms will be used for interviewing and the Auditorium used for Panel Discussions and Q&A Sessions; this event represents a comprehensive approach to address the skills gap and prepare job seekers for openings that employers have now. Whether you have been helping us support our local community since its inception, or are joining us for the first time, you will find that the Bronx Library Center's Job Expo is the ideal networking and recruiting event.

Our Career and Educational Information Services Department (CEIS) has organized to connect job seekers with businesses that are hiring or plan to hire in the near future. We anticipate that the experience and education levels of attendees will be diverse and hope to provide a "one-stop" employment shopping experience for employers and potential employees alike.

This was a joke. A complete

This was a joke. A complete waste of time. I got there at 11am. Finally made it in at about 2 pm. By then most of the companies such as BronxWorks and Veterans Affairs were gone. And many of the companies advertised to be there such as execusearch and nyu were never even there. Montifeor called a quits at around 3pm even though there was a long line of jobseekers waiting to be interviewd. Some of the recruiters were rude and there were a number of companies such as devry and Lehamn college who weren't there to offer jobs but rather there to try get your money by enrolling you into a program. This was my first job fair ever. And this was my last job fair in The Bronx. For shame.

JOB EXPO 2012

Wow. That wasn't my experience........I had a great time. I got the opportunity to make my own choice of meeting (3) three employers to give my elevator pitch to and met with another Coach to run my pitch before meeting my chosen employers. It was great, it was well organized and guess what, I even got a job interview from one of the employers! This was the best JOB FAIR I EVER WENT ON! I think I had the best pitch ever! Dear Ms. Robyn, I was so thrilled to be part of a team that helped serve the city of Bronx in the last annual Job Expo. Indeed it was a success! For the most part, the organization was excellent, the security did a great job as well as members of the organizing committee. I will be delighted to be part of the success of future Expos. The resume was incredible and professional, the job information provided, to the employers that we met prior to the Expo and up until the day of the Job Expo. I am more than satisfied with results. The Career and Education Information Services Center in the Bronx on East Kingsbridge Road is the best center, I have ever experienced. I get outstanding resources on anything I need whether its housing, jobs, or education. I see a lot of people coming in here and now I know why. It is because it's a very helpful environment. Ms. Saunders makes you feel as though you are not struggling alone, you have a true friend rooting for you and makes you feel as though you are apart of the Bronx Library Center Team.
