March 2012 NYPL Blog Highlights
February showers bring March flowers? Sure, why not!
March 2012 might have been a little unusual, weather-wise. But very much as usual, NYPL's amazing bloggers shared dozens of updates on collections, services, programs, history, and so much more.
Here's the typical rundown of the month.
- Flowers bloomed!
- We dreamed of summer and Parisian food.
- Mid-Manhattan and Seward Park showed lots of films; the Milstein Division made one of their own.
- Older adults kept fit.
- New readers learned skills to stay healthy.
- Workers found jobs and relevant trade associations.
- Monsters ate whiny kids and Axe Cop chopped off bad guys' heads.
- A New Yorker said please and thank you.
- An LGBT Collection volunteer said hello.
- A fairy tale whispered Once upon a time... and happily ever after.
- A fan re-watched Northern Exposure, Star Trek, The Hunger Games, and Game of Thrones.
- A home cook made Asian Beef and Noodles, Curry Shrimp with Peas, and North African veggies.
- Citizens were empowered with information.
- Artists were interviewed at Jefferson Market and Mulberry Street.
- Weary travelers hiked through woods, set sail, and moved out West.
- An iPod shuffled through Brahms, bachata, dubstep, Medieval music, and Van Halen.
- Women in literature, history, social studies and other fields were celebrated.
- Transmissions were received from a cosmic starseed (and then processed by an archivist).
I wonder what April will bring?
