The #WUSEUM
Here at Dongan Hills Library, we have formed a #WUSEUM... a collection of material relating to all things Wu-Tang Clan. The collection of CDs, DVDs, and books associated with the Staten Island rap group is curated by Dongan Hills Library staff members Imer Ardolic and Steve Herman. Many of the items in our #WUSEUM are highlighted in this list!
The #WUSEUM was formed after our Library Twitter (@awesomelibrary) participated in a conversation with other Twitter users about the Wu-Tang Clan. Feeling inspired by the Twitterverse, we decided to make a display that highlights material by, or about the Wu, in our Library. Materials range from music and books by or about the group and its prolific members, movies that feature members of Wu-Tang, and books and movies that inspired the group and the themes of their music (kung fu movies, chess books, etc.). We connected our Tweets with the physical display by naming the display with the hashtag, #WUSEUM.
The @awesomelibrary often Tweets pictures of the #WUSEUM to members of the Wu-Tang Clan, and invites them to stop by to check it out. Sometimes they retweet us, which is pretty cool. Hopefully, one day they will actually come by to see it...
