Book Discussion Group at the Tottenville Library
The Tottenville book discussion group has been meeting since this past September. Here is the schedule:
Sept 21-Martha Quest by Doris Lessing
Oct 19-The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz
Nov 16-Girlbomb by Janice Erlbaum
Dec 14-The Camel Bookmobile by Masha Hamilton
Jan 11-White Noise by Don DeLillo
Feb 8-Evening by Susan Minot
Mar 8-The Gathering by Anne Enright
Apr 5-King Lear by William Shakespeare
May 3-The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan
June 7-A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
So far I would say the most popular has been Girlbomb. Most members of the group seemed to identify with the author's struggles as a young woman. I really enjoyed Oscar Wao despite the ending. The group regularly has about 15 participants. It is a lively and animated group. Come join us if you are in the area!
