Public Programs

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture presents a wide range of educational and cultural programs on a year-round basis in its renowned Langston Hughes Auditorium and American Negro Theater. From seminars, forums, workshops, staged readings, film screenings, to performing arts programs, and special events. Public programs complement the Schomburg Center's exhibitions, collections and research services and interpret its collections. Please keep in mind that we do not accept unsolicited proposals for public programs.

Exhibitions

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture offers exhibitions throughout the year. These exhibitions are usually based on items from the Center's extensive collections. Exhibition hours: Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Our exhibitions i found god in myself: The 40th Anniversary of Ntozake Shange's for colored girls and Question Bridge: Black Males are recommended for ages 14 and over. Due to limited spacing in both spaces, no more than 15 people may view each exhibit at a time.
