Event Details

Kids ages 4-12 are invited to 53rd St Library to do art from 3:30-4:30 PM each Wednesday. We'll work with different materials to create new art each week!

No registration is needed for this workshop. Please just show up to our children's floor on the Lower Level by 3:40 PM and join in. Enough materials will be provided for at least 10 children each week. We will provide books to tie in with our craft themes. Younger children may participate in modified versions of the craft if it is possible.

Our workshops for March 2025:

Wednesday art workshop

March 5 - Still Life!

How can you capture light on a surface? Use crayons, pencils, and pastels to draw a bowl of fruit and a vase of flowers using your powers of observation.

March 12- Illustrate A Poem in Watercolor

Choose a pre-printed poem, read it with your adult, and paint a picture that has something to do with what it's talking about. Funny poems, poems about animals, and poems about spring will be provided.

March 19- Painting In Monochrome

Join us as we choose one color to paint in and practice using a palette to mix your color with white and black in order to get different shades of color for your picture!

March 26- Mosaics!

Join us to use air-dry clay, beads and glass squares to make a mosaic that can decorate your home or garden!
