This program will take place onsite at Jerome Park Library.

Join us and learn about two famous artists commemorated during Black History Month. Afterwards, children will creat an inspired work of art based on the artists art style.

February 11: Jean-Michel Basquiat, an American artist who rose to success during the 1980s as part of the Neo-expressionism movement. 

February 25: Jacob Lawrence, an American painter known for his portrayal of African-American historical subjects and contemporary life. Specifically, The Migration Series, a 60-panel series that depicts the Great Migration of African Americans from the South to the North. 

This is a family program for children, teens, and adults. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a parent and/or caregiver.
