ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Leonard Koren trained as an artist and architect. In 1976 he created WET: The Magazine of Gourmet Bathing, an avant-garde publication seminal in the development of postmodern aesthetics. Subsequently Koren has written numerous books including Wabi-Sabi: for Artists, Designers, Poets & Philosophers, the classic volume on the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.

Stella Bugbee is the editor of The New York Times' Styles section, a position she's held since June 2021. Previously, she was editor-in-chief and president of The Cut, New York Magazine’s fashion and lifestyle publication. Under Bugbee’s leadership, The Cut became an authority for Millennial women thanks to its expanded coverage of politics, motherhood, health and careers. Stella studied writing and design at Parsons School of Design, where she later taught for six years before moving into leadership roles at Ogilvy & Mather, AR New York, and Domino magazine.
