About the Presenter:

Tara Hankinson

Tara Hankinson is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of TALEA Beer Co., NYC's first and only female-founded brewery and taproom. (pronounced tuh-lay-uh) She grew up immersed in the food and beverage world with parents who worked at some of NYC's famous dining destinations. After college, she moved to New York and took wine classes while working in philanthropy. She earned her MBA from NYU and spent a summer interning at Wölffer Estate Vineyard which inspired her to start homebrewing. Tara worked in consulting at PwC and then marketing at The New York Times before meeting her co-founder LeAnn Darland at a beer e-commerce start-up in 2018. They left their jobs in 2019 to start selling beer across NYC. Their flagship brewery and taproom in Williamsburg opened in 2021 and they now have satellite taprooms in Cobble Hill, West Village, and Bryant Park. You can find their beers across NY State in Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Wegmans, and hundreds of restaurants, bars, and retailers.
