Explore your artistic potential with Creative Aging, a series of art workshops for adults 50 and older.

 In this class participants will learn handmade artist book binding techniques. We will create a variety of books from artist zines and accordion books all the way to japanese stab binding! Each artist will create their own handmade books using a variety of beautiful papers. The possibilities for handmade books are endless - they can be used for journaling, sketching, scrapbooking, and writing stories! 

 

 

This program series will be held in person at Yorkville Library Join us for Artist Bookmaking Workshop.  Teaching artist Georgina Arroyo will guide participants through book binding and design techniques over five sessions. Participants will be encouraged to bring materials to add to their books throughout the class.

Materials will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring materials like drawings, magazine clippings or photographs to add to their books throughout the class.

Attendance at all sessions is recommended. Space is limited | Registration is recommended.  Register above with your email address for May sessions. Walkups will be permitted as space accommodates. 

This series will consist of five sessions, 90 minutes each.

About Georgina 

 

Georgina Arroyo is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Georgina's work focuses on mapping, neighborhood change, and personal connection. She was born and raised in Queens, NY and received a BFA at Lesley University College of Art & Design in Cambridge, MA. She now works out of her studio in Bushwick.

Creative Aging is a series of free art classes for adults 50 and older.
