NER BECK: Looking Up, Down & Around Town
Photographer Ner Beck wanders through city streets and sidewalks daily, always with camera in hand, to capture what suddenly appears before him and that strikes his visual fancy. Searching for anything and everything in all directions, looking up at glass on buildings, down at concrete and asphalt, and turning corners to find a new pathway he has never traveled on before. This exhibition has three groupings: New York Reflections is a series of photographs of glass surfaces and water that form natural colorful shifting collages as you pass by them. Lost, Dropped & Forgotten is a collection of everyday personal objects accidentally left behind by city sidewalk walkers of all ages. And finally, Found Faces, a portrait gallery of funny and sometimes scary head shots formed by inanimate objects having human facial features and emotions, that may make you laugh or feel a little uneasy as they stare back at you. Most of these images only exist for a few moments in time when they are observed and photographed, so take a little trip to Soho and spend some of your time enjoying this fun and thought-provoking exhibition.
