Library Privacy Week 2021: Recap and Resources
Thank you for joining the New York Public Library for Privacy Week 2021! It was a great week of learning all about digital privacy, what our information is used for, and how we can keep our data safe. New York City’s three library systems—Brooklyn Public Library, The New York Public Library, and Queens Public Library—and Metropolitan New York Library Council celebrated Library Privacy Week from November 15–19.
Library Privacy Week aims to educate patrons and provide them with information to better understand digital privacy and data security. NYPL recognizes that privacy is essential to the exercise of free speech, thought, and association, and we are committed to protecting your privacy. This year's Library Privacy Week took place just after NYPL released our most recently updated privacy guidelines. You can view NYPL's latest privacy policy at nypl.org/privacy.
We put together one panel discussion with Jerome Greco, Nicole Mo , and Alfred Ng , along with three Privacy Reading Rooms covering a range of different topics. For your convenience, we have linked the recording for “Digital Privacy & You: Know Your Rights” below along with the articles from our three Privacy Week Reading Room discussions.
