Highlighting the College and Career Pathways' ICCAN Teens

one of a red briefcase and the other of a blue grad capEvery year, NYPL's College and Career Pathways program organizes the Intensive College and Career Access Network (ICCAN) program. The  program is open to students in 10th–12th grades to give them intensive assistance in developing a pathway for their desired postsecondary goals. This program, which takes place from October through the end of May, assists students with many facets of the college and career application process.

While participating in this program, some of our alumni ICCAN students have achieved significant accomplishment which we've highlighted below If you are a teen living or going to school in New York City, we hope that these teens inspire you to consider participating in the ICCAN program.

Applications to the program for the 2021-22 school year are still open, and you can find more information about applying to the program here.

Issac, who completed his first year as an ICCAN student in 2020 with the Tompkins Square Library, was accepted into the 2021 Alexander Hamilton Scholars Program—an empowerment program that provides mentorship and guidance, and helps students build a network to support them through their postsecondary career. Issac used the ICCAN program's 1-on-1 guidance sessions to work on his application for the program. Read more about Issac on the Hamilton Scholars website.
