If you’re seeking titles for Women’s History Month

Noisemakers book cover

Leyh’s dynamic, offbeat girl characters are a trademark of her fiction works. She’s also worked with other comics artists to document historical women. Leyh contributed a chapter on Annie Londonderry, a 19th-century woman cyclist, to the anthology Noisemakers: 25 Women Who Raised Their Voices and Changed The World. Explore the whole anthology to read about twenty-five extraordinary women who made a racket, a bang, and uproar! You'll get to know some familiar heroes better, and you'll meet some new ones, too, like a daredevil pilot! A shark whisperer! An undercover spy! All noisemakers, through and through.

Leyh doesn’t only write for kids and teens. Her brand-new graphic novel Thirsty Mermaids (released Feb 9, 2021) features three scrappy mermaids who are stuck in human bodies after a temporary spell goes wrong and have to make it in the real world. You can place Thirsty Mermaids on hold here or request the e-book here. Readers seeking more of Leyh’s work can read her free webcomic Supercakes

Snapdragon-Inspired Activities

Snap, the central character in Snapdragon, loves animals and nature. Jacks, the older woman who rescues Snap’s dog after he gets lost, teaches Snap how to pay attention to animals and nature in the world around her. Follow Snap’s and Jacks’ lead by making a Nature Journal to observe changes in the plants and seasons near you.
