Announcing the Andrew Heiskell Library Podcast: "Talkin' Talking Books"

I'm excited to welcome you to a new chapter in the life of the Heiskell Recording Studio community! We have just launched a biweekly podcast called Talkin’ Talking Books at the Andrew Heiskell Braille & Talking Book Library. Hosted by me, Heiskell Recording Studio Manager James Langton, it’s aimed at our patrons and NLS patrons nationwide. Each episode includes a guest from among library staff, volunteers and patrons for lively and light-hearted conversation about their lives and about what goes into choosing, narrating, recording, and sharing audiobooks. Included are Talking Book recommendations and excerpts to help you find your next great read.

As the Audiobook Studio manager I wanted to let people know more about the Talking Books we’re creating but also to begin a conversation about the people who make them, the people who listen to them and the people who help patrons find those books. We have a beautiful, hilarious, and touching group of people who make this world of talking books turn, and we want to connect with you all.

Do you have questions? A burning interest in what we do about hiccups? Or a desire to find someone with the deep knowledge of historical horror books needed to make your recommendations? Comment below and I will do my best to get guests who can answer all your questions. In the meantime happy listening!

Listen below to episode one. The debut episode features Broadway actress Corinne Melançon discussing highlights of her acting career and the five books she has narrated so far as a volunteer for the NLS program.
