Digital Exhibition: May Meng 'The Left is Screen'

“The Left is Screen” is a series of photographic artwork created during pandemic quarantine time in NYC, when almost all events transformed into “online” and as a photo maker, what is in front of me is “screen,” so I have to face the transition and take my creation into what's left to create in the world. My intention for this project is to “scream” that we cannot live the life in only “screen,” the beauty we are missing will not be easily replaced by the Screen, I believe. —May Meng

About the Artist:

Mingmei (May) Meng is a NYC-based Chinese artist, curator, and director. She has held many exhibitions around New York and the world. Her artworks are philosophical and experimental, most exploring her own boundaries of mastering the art medium of photography. She also creates paintings and sculptures to extend the connections of artworks and inspirations to itself. She believes that she is never the same artist as she was; she will keep updating and invent herself in her artworks.

You can view more of her work on her website.
