Happy Friday, everyone!

Today marks the end of our Immigrant Heritage Week 2020 Virtual Celebration. Thank you for joining us for a week of highlighting some of the books about immigrants and the immigrant experience that you can access on your device wherever you are!

It is also very important to remember that Census 2020 is taking place right now! You can answer the form online—ten minutes of your time will impact the next ten years of our lives. Make yourself count! You can find more information about it in this link: Census 2020

It was a pleasure for us at the New York Public Library to put this mini event together as we look forward to Immigrant Heritage Week every year. Through our seven book lists, compiled below, I hope that you will find something to read while we remain indoors.

The stories of New York City and beyond help remind us about the beauty and wonder of being an immigrant in this, our wonderful city—something we should not lose sight of during these trying times.Taking a moment to acknowledge how difficult this is, living in a city that thrives and celebrates interacting with our neighbors and community, it’s quite the change of pace being inside for so long.

During these challenging times, the Library is here to help our communities find the resources they need. NYPL has collected a selection of links to help our patrons find important information and help. Explore these categories to find tips for economic resources, health and wellness services, housing information, and more.

Just as we have always strived to be a place that is welcoming and inspiring to all, we hope that the resources we have put together may be of assistance to you and also help continue to make you feel connected as you are still part of our Library community.

Stay safe, and happy Immigrant Heritage Week 2020!
