Constitution Day or Citizenship Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is normally observed on September 17, the day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia.

We also provide resources, programs, and services that support those New Yorkers seeking to become American citizens. Each branch library has a New Americans Corner where you can find information and resources related to citizenship and other immigration-related topics. We also have programs and services to help you achieve this goal:

Citizenship Study Workshops 

To help you study and prepare for the Civics Test. Workshops are held at the Mid-Manhattan Library @ 42nd Street, Wakefield Library, Parkchester Library, Throgs Neck Library, and Fort Washington Library.

And don't forget English classes for Speakers of Other Languages, including Citizenship Test Preparation English Classes at the St. Agnes Library, as shown in the video above.
