Jerome Park Library: Interacting with Kids and the Community
Last weekend, Jerome Park Library set up a table at the Lehman College Kids Rule Weekend. It was a fun-filled day of pony rides, train rides, face painting, a bounce house, performances, and other activities. Representing the library showed that in all things fun, reading and the Library can have a presence. We offered library card registrations, summer reading signups, and general information about Jerome Park programs and events. In addition, we had giveaways for those who stopped by our table. And as if that weren't enough, we had a blast doing finger-painting crafts with the kids, where they made sand crabs.
It was great to go out into the community and interact with regular Jerome Park Library patrons as well as meet new people. Though our first time at the event, it definitely won't be our last! To continue the fun at home, see some recommended books below. Be sure to check out all of Jerome Park Library's upcoming programs, particularly our Summer Reading Celebration on August 21, beginning at 2 p.m.
