Learning the alphabet Australian Aboriginal style... What could be better? Especially for people who are lucky enough to have visited that fantastical, majestic, fun-loving land.

D is for dingo. Emu eggs, a joey, a numbat, a platypus, a quokka, and a wombat are among the Australian animals that grace the stiff pages of this delightfully sweet and informative book. In fact, I have never heard of some of the animals in the book. Numbats and quokkas are among the many marsupial animals that traipse across Australian lands. Numbats are slim and striped, and they eat termites and ants. Quokkas look like little teddy bears and eat grass.

W is for Wombat: My First Australian Word Book by Bronwyn Bancroft, 2010 

I love the Aboriginal artwork throughout this book with its classic dots; it reminds me of the paintings that I saw all over Australia while I was studying abroad. In fact, Bronwyn was the name of my best friend's sister in Australia. I think that it is the coolest name.

Also, I was happy to finally find a board book to blog about. The author is an Aboriginal artist.
