USPTO Patent Examiner Recruiters at CCNY College-Wide Career Fair
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is the Federal agency for granting U.S. patents and registering trademarks. In doing this, the USPTO fulfills the mandate of Article 1, Section 8, Clause 8, of the constitution that the Executive branch "promote the progress of science and the useful arts by securing for limited times to inventors the exclusive right to their respective disscoveries." The USPTO registers trademarks based on the Commerce Clause of the Constitution (Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3).

From March 7-9, representatives from USPTO's Patent Corps will be at the City College of New York (CCNY), City University of New York, to meet with and identify talented people in the region eligible to apply for patent examiner positions.
Thursday, March 7, 12 noon-4 p.m.
CCNY Career Fair at Shepard Hall
USPTO representatives will talk with qualifying students and alumni about patent examiner job duties and benefits. The Fair is free for job seekers from all areas. More information.
Thursday, March 7, 5-6 p.m.
USPTO information session providing more information about the patent examiner positions and the agency. Details available at the USPTO table at the Career Fair.
Friday, March 8, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday, March 9, 8:30 a.m.-12 noon
Information sessions and interviews with USPTO Recruiters for patent examiner positions. The agency is seeking Patent Examiners in the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering. To guarantee a 30-minute interview slot, individuals must register here, otherwise slots will be granted on a first come, first served basis.
