A Pic Pick For The Eloquent Child
Today's Pic Pick is...
By debut author-illustrator K.G. Campbell.
Ages 7 and UpFor the eloquent child who's surpassed Fancy Nancy and her well-versed prototypes comes a more universal story, although not part of a series. Lester's Dreadful Sweaters!
Lester wears a bowtie, combs his hair carefully to the side, measures the evenness of his pulled up socks and keeps a lost and found collection.
All seems in order until his cousin Clara's cottage is consumed by a crocodile and she is to stay with Lester's family. She later greets Lester with a gift, a shrivled, saggy sweater which Lester wears and carefully disposes of. But every time a mishap occurs, there goes Clara with her clicktey-click and yet another dreadful sweater. What is a young man to do, but face the ridicule that lies ahead in class, outdoors and soon in a friends party. Does Lester find a way out of this mishap? Well of course he does... Perhaps there might also be a lesson about making the best of things. But don't just take my opinion see what they said too...
