The New York Public Library with its sponsor, Citi Foundation, has announced the New York StartUP! 2012 Business Plan Competition for New York-based startup entrepreneurs with cash prizes totaling over $30,000. The third annual New York StartUp! gives aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to bolster their business acumen. Entrants gain practical insights about starting and growing a business, while learning about the comprehensive small business resources at NYPL’s Science, Industry and Business Library (SIBL).

One of the requirements is to attend an orientation session. One of those sessions will be held right here on Staten Island at the St. George Library Center on Saturday, December 3 from 11am to 1pm.

On street parking is almost always available on a Saturday near the St. George Library, but there is also a parking garage down the street. Any bus or train on Staten Island that takes you to the Staten Island Ferry also brings you close to the St. George Library. It is right across the street from the ferry terminal.
