Hand-Made
Simply Sublime Winter Sewing!
Tomorrow afternoon, November 20th, is our next Handmade Crafternoon, and we'll be thinking winter—snow, skates, holiday cheer—as we stitch up some little ornaments or other gifts using fabric with images from the Library's collection of wintry scenes and greeting cards.
My cohost (and Crafternoon author) Maura Madden and I are excited to welcome special guest Jodi Kahn, author of Simply Sublime Gifts. Jodi will show us how to whip up especially printed fabric into little handstitched gems. As usual, we'll have some supplies to share, but you are welcome to bring along your own sewing stuff—needles, fabric scissors, as well as any special little scraps of fabric you'd like to incorporate into your project. We look forward to sewing with you. Also as usual, this is a FREE event and you don't need to sign up in advance. Just come out and join the fun!
Where: Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, Margaret Liebman Berger Forum (on the Second Floor, Room 227)
When: Saturday, November 20, 2010, from 2:00 to 4:00pm
