Interviews
My Library: Samantha
Samantha, age 17
What brings you to the Library today?
I came to the library today to meet my mother.
Anything special reason why you're waiting for her?
Yeah we are going to sign up my baby sister for the Summer Reading Program today. I might also take out some books.
That sounds like fun. So are there any books that you like or is there something that you usually check out?
The types of books I check out are YA, Urban novels. And I like the CD collection especially the Hip-Hop and R&B.
How long have you been coming to the library?
It’s been about 13 years now.
Wow, that’s a very long time. So are you going to make sure your sister follows in your footsteps?
Of course.
What do you do besides checking out books?
I like to volunteer and help the staff. I’ve been visiting the Kips Bay Branch for so long it feels like a second home to me. I also like to use the computers.
What would you like people to know about you?
I would like you to know that I’m very helpful and I love to help younger children.
