Highlight From the Stuff For the Teen Age 2010 List: I Can't Keep My Own Secrets
I Can't Keep My Own Secrets: Six-Word Memoirs by Teens Famous and Obscure is one of the most popular books I’ve ever shared at a Teen Advisory Group meeting. All of my kids were passing it around, reading their favorites out loud to each other, and trying to come up with their own six-word memoirs. What is a six-word memoir, you ask? Try to summarize something important about your life in just six words; it might be harder than you think!
Here are some of our favorite examples of six-word memoirs from this unique and entertaining book:
A roller-coaster ride of unbelievable events.
My name will someday be remembered.
Mom just revoked my creative license.
Living my dream; please send money.
Bulimia was only cramping my style.
My dad has more MySpace friends.
I never got my Hogwarts letter.
I love you, please stop drinking.
I'm still scared of a B-plus.
Follow your dreams. Not your parents.
Edward Cullen is my fictional boyfriend.
Fake smiles. Hidden tears. Real laughter.
I Can't Keep My Own Secrets appears on the Stuff For the Teen Age 2010 list.
