It’s International Podcast Day and The New York Public Library is celebrating by revisiting some of the most popular episodes of The Librarian Is In, the Library's podcast about books, culture, and what to read next.

Last week we celebrated 200 episodes and over the years our hosts have discussed everything from classic literature to manga, with brief breaks to indulge in show tunes and ASMR, so there’s something for everyone.

200 episodes is a lot to parse through, so this list is a great place to get started. Once you’re hooked you can subscribe to hear a new episode every other week!

Where it all began! Frank and Gwen talk about book shame, their reading origin stories, the glory of Jefferson Market, and why some young people are saying "swell" without irony.

For Gwen’s last episode, she surprised Frank by reading one of his all time favorite books—Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. Stay warm on those windswept moors everybody.

Hey, Alexa? What would life be like if we were a graphic novel about humanoid monsters? (This will make sense if you listen to this episode with Frank and Rhonda discussing Machines Like Me by Ian McEwan and My Favorite Thing Is Monsters by Emil Ferris.)

Frank and Crystal’s first ever book club together, where they discuss All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque.

It’s not all serious war stories. In this episode Frank and Crystal discuss movies, reality television, and “cult-chuh.” There’s also books!
