Did you know: April 1 is Census Day—hooray! But wait, what exactly is Census Day?

It's pretty important, as far as nationally-observed days go. April 1 is the deadline the U.S. Census Bureau gives itself to mail you all Census-related materials.

When you take the Census, you'll use a code mailed to you to answer a survey with basic questions about who you are and what your household  looks like as of April 1. That means that if you have a newborn, live in a split household, are experiencing housing instability, or are concerned about other circumstances,  your Census responses should be based on where you are what your household looks like on April 1.

Census Day is all about helping you, your household, and your community get counted for the next decade, so the government knows  how it can best serve you. In this case, knowledge really is power!

Get yourself pumped up—and informed—about getting counted by acing our simple nine-question quiz about all things Census. Can you get 100%?
